New green space and footpaths
Olveston enjoys lush surrounding countryside with unique historical features, like a system of water channels called rhynes. These channels help drain the land and support nature by fostering diverse species of life.
We want to play our part in protecting and enhancing these features.
Enhancing habitats
- Embrace biodiversity: We will plant new trees and hedgerows to enrich the surroundings and protect precious ecosystems.
- New green space: All residents could discover a vibrant new public space near the heart of the village, offering views of St Mary’s Church.
- Illuminate with Care: Expect minimal new lighting to preserve the natural ambience.
- Sustainable Living: Our commitment extends to creating a network of Sustainable Drainage Systems, featuring eco-friendly elements that reflect the local character.
Engaging the community
- Biodiversity Boost: a minimum 10% increase in Biodiversity Net Gain on-site, aligning with the council’s Biodiversity and Planning guidelines.
